This
public building was designed to a shoestring budget for the City Council
of Harare (Salisbury). It echoed the international style sweeping globe
at the time.
A pool garden in the entrance court, pilotis holding up an extensively glazed and unadorned upper floor. A ceramic tile motif completed the image and with the backdrop of the Harare Gardens park, its setting in the inner city was remarkable. The rear of the building that fronts onto the park is used as a sculpture park. . Ref. . |
